The Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT-8 is Jeep's first entry into the SRT line. To create this beast, the SRT team started with your run of the mill Jeep Grand Cherokee and gave it their usual treatment. Like the Dodge and Chrysler SRT-8 vehicles, the Jeep receives a 6.1L Hemi making 420hp and 420lb-ft tq. . Driving the wheels is a full time 4WD system, making this by far the fastest and most powerful Jeep ever with the ability to reach 60 mph in just under 5 seconds.
Function and Performance
Of course, the SRT team doesn't stop at a massive engine. The Grand Cherokee SRT-8 also receives refinements to it's suspension in the form of SRT-tuned dampers, unique sway bars, and specially tailored suspension bushings and spring rates. Bringing all this to a stop is child's play with the Brembo four-piston calipers clamping 360 x 32 mm vented rotors in front, and 350 x 26 mm rotors in the rear. In the perfect blend of form and function, the front fascia has been redesigned to reduce lift and drag and provide cooling for the front brakes.
Style
The interior of the Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT-8 is equipped with power-adjustable front seats with aggressive bolsters and performance suede inserts. Comprehensive instrumentation is trimmed with blue accents while the center stack, shifter bezel and door-switch bezels are trimmed with a "refined aluminum" finish. The Jeep Grand Cherokee's interior is offered in just one color: Medium Slate Grey. On the outside, you have 3 choices of paint: bright silver, brilliant black and inferno red.
